A novel promoter PLsGRP1 from Lilium functions well in many phylogenetically distinct plant species. The pathogen-responsive trait suggests that PLsGRP1 can be applied in genetic engineering for disease resistance. Multiple factors-stimulating PLsGRP1 deletions would be useful for molecular breeding and farming. The expression profile of PLsGRP1 explicates the defensive role of LsGRP1 gene in Lilium.
