Sensing abilities of a novel imidazoazine framework have been studied. Two products IA-1 and IA-2 were selectively able to detect Cu2+ in solution phase. Designed sensors displayed high association constants and acceptable LODs. Fluorescence spectroscopy and NMR titrations were used to study this phenomenon. Applications in the area of sample monitoring, membrane sensing and photo-printing.
