Lotus-leaf (LL) like ZnO nanostructures are synthesized by simple reflux method.

LL-ZnO nanostructures electrode is utilized for fabricating ethyl acetate chemical sensor.

LL-ZnO exhibits a high sensitivity of ~139.8 µA mM−1 cm2 and LOD of ∼0.26 mM.

LL-ZnO based electrode presents good electrocatalytic properties and ion adsorption ability.
