Numerical and experimental burst pressure evaluation of steel pipe was performed. Seamless hot-rolled steel pipe with and without corrosion defect were considered. Local reduction of pipe wall thickness from 6 to 2.4 mm reduces resistance by 40%. Pipe repaired by a 6 mm fibre glass sleeve was more resistant than an original pipe.
