A new working concept for variable delivery flow external gear machines is proposed. The new concept is cost-effective and has high energy saving potentials. The paper provides analytical derivations of the theoretical flow for asymmetric gears. Flow variation range, torque and non-uniformity in flow is described. Results include an experimental validation of the proposed concept.
