The effects of sleep quality on smoking cessation are understudied. This relation was examined in a sample of socioeconomically disadvantaged adults. Poorer pre-quit sleep quality increased the likelihood of post-quit non-abstinence. Sleep quality during the first week post-quit predicted smoking status at 4 weeks.
