Chlorophyll excitation quenching in LHCII is not induced by protein-lipid molecular interactions. LHCII attractive interactions occur in lipid membranes. Aggregation-induced LHCII fluorescence quenching involves two transitions, occurring in different protein-to-lipid regimes.
