Human faecal sludge is not a waste but an organic-rich resourceful material. Moisture content of human faecal sludge makes them suitable for dielectric heating. Recovery of pathogen-free value-added products such as chars, fertilizers is feasible. Value-added products recovered can provide financial benefit. Parameters for scaling the microwave technology for sanitation purposes are proposed.
