Transport properties of the (5,5) capped CNT-DPA-linear carbon atomic chains systems are examined for the first time in a theoretical manner. Excellent negative differential resistance (NDR) and switching behavior observed. Unique properties of (5,5) capped singlewall carbon nanotubes are attractive to potential application for future nano-circuit design.
