The application of multiple analyte adduct formation in the LC-MS3 analysis of valproic acid in human serum

LC–MS3 quantification of valproic acid was performed. Analyte adduct formation with the components of the mobile phase was used. A multiple analyte adduct with sodium acetate generated the MS3 mass transition. Protein precipitation was applied as sample preparation method. The advantage of analyte adducts in LC–MSn was discussed.
