Arctic oil spill risk analyses should move to more quantitative approaches. We present a general probabilistic Arctic food web model for risk analyses. Risks to ecosystem should be assessed on key functional groups instead of species. Conceptual food web embodies key relationships between oil and ecosystem response. Framework can be used as a template for more detailed risk assessments.
