Newly prepared hybrid coatings with enhanced outdoor durability are presented. Such coatings are based on silica and zirconia crosslinked with a fluoropolymer. Material properties are investigated at varying zirconia/silica molar ratios. High-level mechanical performance and good hydrophobicity are achieved. Hybrid coatings on polycarbonate show good stability after long-term light exposure.
