An efficient biocatalytic system for floxuridine biosynthesis based on Lactobacillus animalis ATCC 35046 immobilized in Sr-alginate

L. animalis ATCC 35046 was efficiently immobilized in Sr-alginate beads.

Sr-alginate biocatalyst was able to reach 96% of floxuridine.

Using hexane as co-solvent, the obtained biocatalyst was able to produce 80% of 5BrUradRib.

The reusability of biocatalyst was enhanced 2-fold respect previous reports.
