We present a cost-effective approach to dispose of duckweed to yield nitrogen doped porous carbon materials. The as-prepared nitrogen-doped carbon materials exhibited excellent Li-storage performance. This strategy provides a facile and novel way to dispose of biomass waste for useful carbon materials.
