Self-efficacy and external digital surroundings relate to academic achievement. Structural equation models used to test self-efficacy, computer use, math learning. Students with high math self-efficacy performed well on math achievement test. Self-efficacy indirectly affects the path between TV viewing and math achievement. Self-efficacy mediates the path between video gameplay and math achievement.
