G. maloi is a new endemic species from south region of Albania suspected as poisonous. In vitro biological effects on K562 cells show a cytotoxic activity of whole extract. Isolation of alkaloids from G. maloi lead to one of the most representative compounds of the extract. Structure elucidation of a new alkaloid from G. maloi was achieved by the use of NMR spectroscopy.
