An extended harmonic balance method based on incremental nonlinear control parameters

A method is proposed to calculate the steady state responses of multiple-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) non-linear dynamic systems using incremental nonlinear control parameters.

The proposed method only requires the solution of linear equations.

With the proposed method, the sensitivities of steady state responses with respect to nonlinear control parameters can be calculated simultaneously.

The working of the proposed method is illustrated by a MEMS device subject to electrostatic forces.
