This is the first report of IHNV in farmed trout fry in Iran. IHN virus caused up to 90% cumulative mortality in farmed trout. Confirmatory diagnosis of IHNV was made by conventional RT-PCR assays and sequencing. Iranian isolate of IHNV (S.AV-IR-IHNV), was classified as E genogroup with 100% identity to some Italian isolates.
