A new heterocyclic ligand was synthesized in excellent yield. Only the absorption spectra of the Fe3+–ligand complex show a high redshift. The stoichiometry of the Fe(III)–ligand complex were also obtained. DFT calculations were performed to provide the structural parameters of the complex.
