Giant magnetocaloric effect is obtained due to the reemergence of magnetostructural coupling in Mn0.95CoGe1-xSix compounds. The working temperature window is expanded from 82 K for Mn1-xCoGe system to 100 K for Mn1-xCoGe1-xSix system. Mn0.95CoGe0.9Si0.1 experiences the forward and reverse martensitic transitions in loop and standard processes, respectively. Mn0.95CoGe0.9Si0.1 exhibits a large -ΔSM of 15.0 J/kg K under a low field change of 2 T.
