Mercury uptake was significantly enhanced as pH increased up to pH 10.

Porosity is not a crucial variable in the global Hg(II) adsorption rate.

Titanate nanotubes exhibited net adsorption capacities higher than titania samples.

TNT materials showed the smallest capacities normalized to surface area.
