The non-centrosymmetric oxides Ba2TGe2O7, with T=Cu, Mn have been synthesized. Different paths for the synthesis of melilite oxides have been explored. The crystallographic axes as a function of the doping have been studied by XRD. High quality Ba2TGe2O7 polycrystals are needed for the growth of single crystals.
