We present a measurement of the correlation between the spins of t   and w the MathML source" class="mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269316300247&_mathId=si3.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269316300247&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=dbf220156ae404eac1653338313a83fc">width="7" alt="View the MathML source" style="margin-top: -5px; vertical-align: middle" title="View the MathML source" src="/sd/grey_pxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269316300247-si3.gif"> quarks produced in proton–antiproton collisions at the Tevatron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. We apply a matrix element technique to dilepton and single-lepton+jets final states in data accumulated with the D0 detector that correspond to an integrated luminosity of w the MathML source">9.7 fb−1. The measured value of the correlation coefficient in the off-diagonal basis, w the MathML source" class="mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269316300247&_mathId=si5.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269316300247&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=340c0aa15ea470380175312f07fda6a1">width="187" alt="View the MathML source" style="margin-top: -5px; vertical-align: middle" title="View the MathML source" src="/sd/grey_pxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269316300247-si5.gif">, is in agreement with the standard model prediction, and represents evidence for a top–antitop quark spin correlation difference from zero at a level of 4.2 standard deviations.
