Nelsonitic composition does not melt at the temperature up to 1200 °C with presence of considerable amount of volatiles. Apatite-hosted melt inclusions are rich in Fe and Mg but low in Ca and alkalis. Damiao nelsonite crystallized from an immiscible Fe-rich melt which had been affected by separation of a magmatic fluid phase.
