Electrochemical acidification of Kraft black liquor: Impacts of pulsed electric field application on bipolar membrane colloidal fouling and process intensification
Colloidal fouling of BPM is due to the hydrogen bonds between lignin and CEL of the membrane. Effects of pulsed electric field on mitigation of colloidal fouling of BPM was studied. A rigorous selected pulse/pause ratio suppressed BPM fouling and intensify EDBM process. Pulse/pause ratio is a key determining factor that influences EDBM efficiency at PEF regime.
