A probable novel clade of human polyomavirus 6 was detected in bile samples of patients. The bile human polyomavirus 6 strain was phylogenetically distinct from other strains previously detected in other clinical specimens. The HPyV6 was detected in patients with both malignant and non-malignant hepatobiliary tract conditions.
