A new TiNbTaZrMo high-entropy alloy (HEA) was developed for metallic biomaterials. The use of HEAs as a new class of metallic biomaterials was demonstrated. Two bcc solid-solution phases were obtained in the TiNbTaZrMo HEA. The TiNbTaZrMo HEA exhibits considerable strength with deformability. The TiNbTaZrMo HEA shows superior biocompatibility comparable to pure Ti.
