The Lijiatun dunites from the Sulu UHP terrane were derived from the lithospheric mantle beneath the North China craton.

These dunites had suffered carbonatitic metasomatism within the shallow mantle before incorporated into subduction channel.

They were then metasomatized by the slab-derived fluids in the subduction channel.

The SCLM beneath the North China craton had been partially modified by carbonate melts before the Yangtze block subduction.
