Small differences in structure, a large difference in activity - Comparing a new Ru(II)-3-hydroxyiminoflavanone complex with analogous Ru(II) compounds
A new complex of ruthenium(II) with 3-hydroxyiminoflavanone was obtained. The complex formation is accompanied with redox reaction between ligand and Ru ion. Cytotoxicity of the complex is surprisingly low, compared to two similar ones. The reason is probably the higher stability and lower lipophilicity of new complex. None of the three complexes significantly alters the hemostasis process.
