Cigarette smoking increases urinary concentration of 3-methyladenine. Exposure to methylating agents increases urinary concentration of 7-methyladenine. Raman spectroscopy and SERS on silver nanoparticles, and DFT simulated spectra. 3-Methyladenine adsorbs on Ag nanoparticles in a very tilted or flat orientation. 7-Methyladenine adsorbs upright on Ag nanoparticles by its N3 and N9 atoms side.
