Gaming activity of 2977 adolescents and young adults was assessed. fMRI during a working memory task was measured from 167 participants. Gaming was associated with improved working memory performance. An interaction of task difficulty and gaming on fronto-parietal activity was seen. Cognitive enhancements were seen already with moderate levels of gaming activity.
