Coupling of phenological information and simulated vegetation index time series: Limitations and potentials for the assessment and monitoring of soil erosion risk
We simulated NDV I times series by fusing Landsat and MODIS imagery. Simulation quality depends on temporal distance between MODIS and Landsat pairs. Periods of rapidly changing phenology require more MODIS and Landsat pairs. NDV I time series and phenological data characterize spatiotemporal soil coverage. Phenological index data support an efficient monitoring of soil erosion on farmland.
