Microstructures and strain variation: Evidence of multiple splays in the North Almora Thrust Zone, Kumaun Lesser Himalaya, Uttarakhand, India
文摘
In NATZ, repeated sequence of 10–500 m thick slices of proto- to ultra-mylonites, thrust over the Lesser Himalayan Rautgara quartzites. The thrust zone is thicker and the thrusts splays are farther away in the west; however, in the east the thrust zone is thinner with close-spaced thrust splays. The strain is distributed inhomogenously in the NATZ, in contrast to its homogenous distribution near the SAT. Strain is higher in the NATZ in comparison to the SAT. These results are attributed to multiple splays of fault in the NATZ.
