Supercritical fluid preparation of Pt, Ru and Ni/graphene nanocomposites and their application as selective catalysts in the partial hydrogenation of limonene

Pt, Ru and Ni nanoparticles were deposited homogeneously on rGO in scCO2. Particle size varied from 2 to 15 nm depending on the metal, methodology and loading. Pt/rGO and Ru/rGO were efficient catalysts in the hydrogenation of limonene. The metal/rGO showed C(%) and S(%) to p-menthene of ca. 80 and 90%, respectively. Ru/rGO was reused up to 4 times with minor loss of activity but constant selectivity.
