A good match is observed between both tools used to determine carbon balance. Poor relationship in the upstream emissions with both methods was observed. API method calculated assertively the GHG emissions life cycles at the EOR project. The practical applicability of API method was validated by this study. Mitigation of 1.3 million tons net CO2 emissions with the EOR project could be achieved.
