Orchard characterisation is dependent on the nature of the grove. Thermal and 3D characterisation require sensor integration. Satellite imagery offers top views of the grove with low spatial resolution to the farmer. Drones are GNSS dependent and in the slope of the Andes mountains GNSS signal is lost. Ground-based system for characterisation of avocado groves is evaluated in the field.
