Three episodic magmatism (2.55–2.49 Ga, 2.33–2.25 Ga and 1.87–1.80 Ga) were revealed from the Mts. Huashan granitoids. The ∼2.5 Ga rocks represent an episodic crustal growth, while the ∼2.3 Ga rocks reflect both crustal growth and reworking. The 1.87–1.80 Ga rocks probably resulted from crustal reworking during the collision between the Eastern and Western Blocks. A continental margin arc setting evolved to continent-arc-continent collision setting in the southern TNCO in Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic.
