Prediction of 3D nuclear reactor's operational parameters from 2D fuel lattice design information: A data mining approach

This paper shows a DM application in order to predict 3D core parameters from 2D parameters.

2D parameters are LPPF, kinf and fuel lattices composition.

Decision trees were built to predict FLPD, MAPRAT and SDM in a BWR reactor.

Decision trees can predict these core parameters in 25 s.

Relative errors of predictions are enough goods and decision trees can be used like auxiliary tools in an optimization process.
