Core logging of petrophysical attributes is often qualitative and subject to errors. Logs should agree with covariates from geochemical analyses or metallurgical tests. A measure of consistency between logs and quantitative covariates is proposed. This measure allows identification of mislogged samples from exploration drill holes. The methodology is applied to validate the logged rock type in an iron ore deposit.
