Precocious E. sinensis could successfully produce viable offspring. Precocious broodstock had significantly lower fecundity, egg fertilization and hatching rate than normal broodstock. Eggs produced by precocious females had higher moisture content, but lower ARA, DHA, n-3 PUFA and n-3 HUFA. Larvae newly hatched by precocious females contained higher crude lipids and n-6 PUFA, but lower ARA and DHA.
