Conventional saturation under strong forcing in mixing layers can be overcome. Ultrafast mixing is achieved under an acoustic resonance frequency in mixing layers. Possible causes of the optimal frequency related to the fast mixing is studied. The optimal frequency is related to an acoustic resonance of the water tunnel. The work may change the paradigm of mixing and heat transfer enhancement for industrials.
