The role of water on the bonding and structural rearrangement of [EMI][MS] in binary systems has been investigated. Molecular level dynamics depends on composition to influence the bulk physicochemical properties of the binary system. Excess molar volume, thermal expansivity, isentropic compressibility, acoustic impedance, and excess viscosity were evaluated. Surface tension and wettability are influenced by the interaction between [EMI][MS] and water.
