NGF upregulates expression of p75NTR in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells.

Increased transcription and reduced proteolytic processing of p75NTR both contribute to NGF-mediated increase in p75NTR.

The increase in p75NTR by NGF contributes to the resistance of TNBC to chemotherapy induced cell death.

Patient samples show a positive correlation between NGF and NGFR levels in basal-like, ER positive and ER negative BC.
