Microstructurally small crack growth rates are experimentally measured. AZ31 magnesium specimens spend majority of life in crack growth regime. Strip yield model is employed to predict the crack growth rates for AZ31 magnesium. Crack growth rates are well correlated using crack tip opening displacement.
