TEMPO oxidized galactoglucomannan modified with tyramine was enzymatically crosslinked and formed gels. Galactoglucomannan hydrogels with tunable mechanical properties. Modification of galactoglucomannan extracted from spruce with known sugar composition and molecular weights. Galactoglucomannans prepared with varying degree of substitution of tyramine to control hydrogel properties.
