In situ formation of copper nanoparticles in carboxylated chitosan layer: Preparation and characterization of surface modified TFC membrane with protein fouling resistance and long-lasting antibacterial properties

A preparation method for TFC membrane modified with in situ formed CuNPs in carboxylated chitosan layer was presented. In situ formed CuNPs can release Cu2+ in a slow and sustainable way. Modified membrane surface had strong and long-lasting antibacterial property. Modified membrane exhibited excellent anti-protein-fouling performance.
