A cost effective inverter topology for AUG's 16 in-vessel saddle coils has been found.

Use of commercially available power modules is possible.

A NPC-like topology of the power stage is realized in a modular way.

The high-speed controllers and PWM engines are realized on Linux-based systems.

First experimental results of AUG plasma shots are presented.
