Spatial frequency content and presence of objects influence microsaccade rate. Microsaccades have a bimodal amplitude distribution during object categorization. High-spatial frequency content increases large microsaccade rate for objects only. Small microsaccades unaffected by spatial frequency content or presence of objects.
