On the prediction of CO2 corrosion in petroleum industry

An extensive model to estimate CO2 corrosion rate is developed using least square support vector machine.

This model is validated with significant amount of experimental data.

The corrosion propagates depending on velocity, temperature, CO2 partial pressure, and pH.

612 and 109 data were used, respectively, for training and testing the model.

Gaussian, polynomial and linear kernel functions were utilized to select the most efficient one.
