We developed a FRET-based genetically encoded nanosensor for the detection of glycine betaine.

This sensor allows the non-destructive real-time monitoring of glycine betaine in cells.

The monitoring of glycine betaine can be performed in prokaryotic as well eukaryotic cell.

This nanosensor would help to increase quantitative knowledge of fluctuations of GB level in living cells.
